Digital coloring is the process that is used in Comics today. Lineart is prepared,
inked (even this can be done digitally now) and then sent to a colorist to add
the final and very important dimension of color to the work. I have dabbled
in this practice for some time and have even had the opportunity to do a few
sequentials professionally.
If I do it nowadays its more for fun than anything. I have a couple tutorials
on the subject here.
